Guidelines / Code of Conduct

  • Please follow the following guidelines when visiting Kayankerni Marine Sanctuary.

  • Do not touch, step on or walk on corals or other marine life.

  • Be careful and watch your fins when snorkelling and diving. You can easily break corals when you kick.

  • Do not collect or purchase corals, shells or other such marine animals and plants as souvenirs.

  • Do not engage in any fishing within the Marine Sanctuary.

  • Do not feed wildlife.

  • Do not anchor boats on coral reefs. Anchor only be done in sandy areas away from corals. Use moorings if present.

  • Support tour operators that follow sustainable practices to encourage them. This includes those following the code of conduct listed here.

  • Act as a role model and encourage others to respect the environment.
